 Nice watch -- toxic leather strap!!!Mar 09, 2010
This is a beautiful basic watch with all of the features I wanted including solar power, day, and date. The size is perfect for my smallish wrist. It's comfortable to wear. Unfortunately, the leather strap it comes with is causing bad skin irritation. I read about another reviewer's (who reviewed the black and silver version of this watch) comment on the same problem and didn't believe it until it happened to me, too. I wore it just one day and I had a red, itchy ring around my wrist for a whole week! I have had other watches with leather straps and have never had such problems. This watch is going back.

The watch is a solid everyday, accurate, and durable timepiece; however the band is cheap looking and does not stand up even after only a few days.

This was a birthday gift for my son who had it on his Amazon wish list. He is delighted with the watch. When his friends saw him unwrap it at the party, they exclaimed with enthusiasm which means it must be a perfect gift for the age 35 year old group.

This is a dress watch. It is slender, is light weight, dressy, keeps good time and date, does and not need winding or battery change. It is a good buy for the price and is warranted for five years by Citizen. On its back it is written that it is water resistant. The watch is made in Japan, the leather band in China. If you are looking for a watch which is heavy on your wrist, that you can go scuba diving wearing it, that gives you the GP, that can record your blood pressure and heart rate and may even tell your fortune you should look elsewhere.

The positives: I wanted an Eco-Drive and that aspect is great. It was easy to set up and runs perfectly. I liked the appearance of the watch on the site and it is very attractive in reality.
The negatives: The leather band began to show significant wear within a week; I suspect I'll have to replace it far too soon. The watch size is a little larger than I would like on my wrist and it sometimes irritates the top of my hand. I was wearing a similar style watch previously but little large size can be a negative.
On balance I would probably buy this watch again.
