 overall a good watchFeb 20, 2008
This watch is big in all aspects... Big in features, big in value and also big in size.. The looks are great, The band is also attractive. I heard that this is difficult to set up initially but i did'nt find it difficult at all to setup.Just one thing that bothers me is that this is very heavy and big is size. If one is ok with a bulky watch then this is a good choice. overall it is a nice watch and i am happy to purchase it from amazon.com

I received this watch as a gift and I am very pleased with it.
It is not the type of watch that I would have chosen for myself, but I am really growing fond, not only of it's looks or even the overall fit and finish, which are all excellent, but for the technology behind the watch.
Set up is not hard when you follow the instructional CD provided with the watch. The only problem I had was that nothing in the manual or on the CD indicated that this watch has a screw-down crown, so when I could not pull out the crown and could not grasp the crown well enough with my big fingers to unscrew it, I assumed that the watch was faulty. A little detective work revealed that it was indeed a screw-down crown and all turned out well.
One of the interesting things about the watch is that the hands are not mechanically operated by the crown, but are motor-driven, so that a little twist of the crown moves the minute hand up or back to the exact next or previous minute--none of this moving the minute hand all over trying to get it in just the right place.
Also, when you're ready to set the watch and pull the crown out to the second position, the second hand goes immediately to the 12 o'clock position, so that you don't have to wait until the minute hand reaches twelve o'clock so that it can be hacked. This very convenient and saves time.
The bracelet is very heavy-duty with a milled, fold-over, push-button clasp.
The watch has a uni-directional bezel, which comes in very handy for me. Almost all my watches are either chronographs or have rotating bezels.
I love this watch for it's good looks, practical features, and its heavy-duty construction.

Just got this watch - it's awesome! It's a nice addition to my collection - some people said the watch is too heavy - it's not all that bad and it's not too bulky either. Very nice appearance as well - you can really see the quality. For $140, a nice eco drive is unbeatable!

I was looking for a chronograph for last many days and did a lot of research about various features and price comparison. I wanted a heavy and busy looking chronograph with not very formal look. After all the research my first choice was Citizen Calibre 8700 range. This range has quite a few good-looking watches. I short listed three watches: BL8030-53L, BL8030-53A and BL8000-54L. The first two watches are the same but different dial color, 53A has white dial. On amazon BL8000-54L has so many positive reviews and sounds it is quite famous among buyers. But I opted for this one because of many reasons... 8030-53L has more features, it has more casual looks(no roman numbers, has this shiny numbered rim), heavy looking, was cheaper(on amazon).
The picture shown is not the good representation. The bracelet and metal casing of dial is not as bright and shiny as shown. I will soon post some pics of my watch. I personally like blue dial so to me its a very nice looking watch.
I bought this watch directly from amazon, chose next day delivery which was without any hassle. I gave 4 stars because the box was kinda worn out and old looking, watch face was not covered by any plastic film.
Came with instruction manual and CD, which are very useful to know functions and features. With the help of manual, setting the watch is pretty easy and not difficult to remember either.

I just bought this watch.
It took about an hour to set up. Had to go through the on-line tutuorial twice. No manual at all with the case. VERY frustrating. Now its running very slow and unuseable.
The watch has a nice face and a good heavy feel, but if I ever have to re-set anything, I will never remember how without the manual.
